Sorry, this page was quite dead. Internet connection was slow, and we were busy.
As you all know if you checked the Event tab above, we had done a performance during the Phor Tay 70th Anniversary Concert.
Things went very well. Dont be disappointed if you did something wrong.
We will be writing a post next year about the performance.
Our four drums have been returned to Mr. Lai our teacher.
We are quite disappointed now, alot of people are quitting this family. As in family, we mean orchestra.
I get your disappointment, but you guys keep saying: I dont like him, I am not the only instrument here.
I cant comment, it will ruin the orchestra's name.
Happy New Year guys, hope 2010 is good and 2011 will be even greater.
Although everyone is sad now, smile!
Just be happy...err I'm not helping am I..hmm

Quick Update 17/11/2010
Today we cannot exchange currency because of the stock.......wait (*out of point again)
Remember the songs, try to memorize it.

Performance
You guys are practicing for the Phor Tay 70 Year Anniversary.
You Guys are going to perform infront of alot of (dua liab lang) like Dato's and YB's.
Yes alot of pressure and especially the drums (precussion): Yuan Shin, Lyn Mei, Shi Qi, Joel, Kye Jing.
Maybe no pressure at all, I think no pressure for the precussion.
If you're a boy, you need to buy:
Lai Sheng will be conducting.
School only supply Shirt for boys and Shirt & Skirt for girls.
Practice the Loi Krathong, Long Teng Hu Yue ok.
Keep it up!

- Black Shoes (where for us to see during Saturday practice)

Time is 7.30am-11.30pm, early loh.
If you cannot come there are two ways:
Practice is at 8.00am-2.00pm, not 11.00am.

There are two pronunciation for the 乐 its le or yue.
This chinese character is commonly used as le but orchestra means yue tuan.

Graduation Performance
"The graduation performance went quite well actually. It was better than I expected" New York Times
"Not bad, the Erhu sounds were smooth and drums as loud as you can imagine" The Times
"Dong Hai Yu Ge was rater small in volume, but theres some room for improvement" Times of India
As you guys can see, I got a few comment's . Most of them are quite good actually.
The Erhu I gotta agree, when we were practicing, we dint realise how good the Erhu sounded like.
Well, the performance went very well. Hope we can give out this kind of performance at other performances.

Graduation Performance
This is just a blog post to those who are performing.Keep on the good work.
Don't let the graduates hear terrible music in their graduation day...
... even worse Erhu that sound like a torched chicken, Pipa's string broken, Cello out of tune, forgot to put Dimo on Dizi (*choi)
To all those who are not chosen, dont give up your hopes soo easily. Thats why our Orchestra is having such a bad name.
Tell us if you are kind enough to borrow us your credit card. We can put advertisements and give us money. That is the current best way of stopping our economical problems (*out of point)

Problems in mis communicating with Chee Kok
Some are chosen to attend the performance in 3/11 & 4/11.
So if you're not chosen then no need to go for practice until 6/11 then your practice will continue again.
Till now, its like that. If there are more changes I'll inform you. Don't misunderstand kay.
This is because orchestra lack of uniforms so not everyone can go for performance. Lack of uniforms because lack of money. so hope you understand.
Don't give up your hopes so easily. Be confident, were sure you'll get chosen on the next performance.
Don't stop practicing because we have to this in a team. Once you stop the others will think its not fair & not worth it so they'll just follow. This is why our Orchestra is having such a bad name.
We AJK cannot fulfill every members wishes. We still have to do our jobs, our jobs as a member is be dicipline and be responsible to attend for practice. Do what we have to do. Be Happy!!!
Just try to think positive. :) Look on the good side, can get some rest. Still can go take your instruments back

Chinese Orchestra Shirt
As all clubs, we have a shirt that we wear during practices.
It's like a uniform, we have to wear them if practices are on Saturday or holidays.
BTW, we think our teacher/designer loves purple.
